The Datix Proxim security system works on RFID technology which means that the device reads without any contact to the tags from a distance of approximately 3cm and can read through wood, cement, water, dirt and glass. No matter what the weather or conditions the Datix security system reader can always scan a check point. The reader is waterproof to IP 67 standards and has a strong and robust outer case. There is also an intrinsically safe version available.

The reader houses a rechargeable battery that gives up to two months stand by time and to fully charge only takes 2.5 hours. In a case of total power loss the reader will store the last read checkpoints, up to 7500.
As well as checking the identity of both employee and site, this verifies the services that are to be provided and the number of hours spent on each site. Details of each visit are stored in the device and at pre-determined intervals can be downloaded through the download cradle interface into the PC.
From this data, clients and management alike are able to receive comprehensive, professional reports for the security service actually provided to the customer, while the security service provider obtains the information required to ensure accurate payment and an efficient service.
