The Datix security system works on RFID technology which means that the device reads without any contact to the tags from a distance of approximately of 3cm and can read through wood, cement, water, dirt and glass.

No matter what the weather or conditions the Datix security system reader can always scan a check point. The reader is waterproof to IP 67 standards and has a strong and robust outer case. There is also an intrinsically safe version available.

The reader houses a rechargeable battery that gives up to two months stand by time and to fully charge only takes 2.5 hours. In a case of total power loss the reader will store the last read checkpoints, up to 7500.
